When biometric data is recorded, it is linked to the passenger’s passport information and official databases to corroborate the person’s immigration and judicial status. If this filter is approved, people are directed through a “Smart Tunnel” for security and immigration control, where biometric data is scanned and verified with cameras without the need for human intervention.
After people successfully pass through the biometric corridor, at the entrance to the lounges and boarding gates they are again identified by facial and iris recognition with fast and accurate verification to access the corresponding areas and board the aircraft without showing physical documents.
Benefits of facial recognition at airports
According to information from the airport, this system has improved the flow of the boarding process, reducing waiting time and minimizing lines for immigration control. It also enhances security by a high percentage because facial biometrics provides an additional layer of security, limiting the use of false documents, human error in identity verification and detecting potential security threats.
This system also privileges the passenger experience throughout the flight process, automating the boarding steps and making the travel experience more comfortable, smooth and fast, achieving the Seamless Travel concept.
